Best Books of 2017 (So Far)

*Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish*

It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday! This weeks theme is the best books that we’ve read so far in 2017. My list is going to be shorter this week as I haven’t really read that many books that I want to include in this list. Here are the five books that I’ve loved so far this year.

Truth or Dare by Non Pratt

25458747

This is one that I recently finished and I enjoyed it so much. The book is told from two perspectives and to read the other point of view, the book has to be flipped upside down and turned over. The characters narrative sometimes overlaps but I found it really interesting to see how the other person experienced the same events. I’ve never read a book written in this way before, so it was really fun to see how it impaced the story.

Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare

Whenever Cassandra Clare releases a new book, it’s never a disappointment and it will always end up on a favourite list for me.

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

28458598

This is probably one of the best contemporaries that I’ve read so far this year. I couldn’t stop smiling the whole way through!

Maus by Art Spiegelman

This is one that I had to read for University, which I wasn’t really expecting to enjoy. It’s a graphic novel that recounts the authors fathers experience in the Holocaust. It was so eye opening and has definitely left an impact on me.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer

18584855

I’m not really a big fan of Alice in Wonderland so I was really surprised when I enjoyed this book. I love Marissa Meyer’s writing and it was really interesting reading about the Queen of Hearts before she was evil.

What are some of the best books that you’ve read so far this year? Let me know if you’ve taken part in this weeks Top Ten Tuesday, so I can check out your lists!

  1. Loved Heartless! Regardless of it being a retelling and already know what to expect with the ending, I thought it was greatly executed. I definitely want to read When Dimple Met Rishi. Happy reading!
