This weeks Top 5 Tuesday topic is about cover buys, and I love this topic. I am guilty of buying books purely for their covers, before reading the synopsis of a book. If it’s pretty, I have to get it!
Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm, if you’re interested in participating click here!
Caraval by Stephanie Garber
I avoided Caraval for a few months, because it was everywhere. I wasn’t planning on reading it but after seeing the cover and the engravings underneath, I had to get my hands on it. Thankfully I ended up really enjoying the book, but it’s so beautiful. I didn’t know what engraving I would get underneath the dust jacket, but luckily I got the rose one which matches my name!
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
The cover for this book is stunning in person, and I couldn’t leave the book shop without it. I didn’t know a lot about it even though I’d seen loads of people saying really good things about it but I was sold by the cover. I still need to read it though, I’m just really scared I won’t enjoy it!
City of Bones 10th Anniversary Edition by Cassandra Clare
I owned two copies of City of Bones before I purchased this one, so I didn’t really need it. But after seeing the cover, and how cheap it was (it was £5) I couldn’t resist. It’s now my favourite edition, so I’m glad I bought it!
Midnight Sun by Trish Cook
I have absolutely no idea what this book is about, but the cover is amazing. I have no regrets.
Passenger by Alexandra Bracken
The Passenger duology have some of my favourite covers ever, and I wasn’t going to read these books until I saw the covers. I love everything about them!
WOW! What a great list! I love them all – especially Midnight Sun!!!! I think that one might be my next cover buy. Like you said, no clue what it’s about but I neeeeeeeed it! LOL
Thanks so much for participating! Would have had you added sooner but I had an unplanned trip to the hospital. All is good though and you’re added now 🙂

Midnight Sun is so pretty, I’ve never heard of the book though! A cover buy for me was probably My Lady Jane and thankfully, I loved it haha 😛

I’m hoping that I enjoy Midnight Sun, but I don’t think I’ll be too disappointed if I don’t because the cover is so pretty 😂 I recently purchased My Lady Jane, I’ve heard so many good things about it!

Oh gosh all those covers are gorgeous! I cover bought Caraval- I’m glad it worked out for you (didn’t as much for me) I absolutely love the cover for strange the dreamer- I did want to read it anyway, but that made me get the hardback version (still need to read it though) And that is an absolutely beautiful version of city of bones and such a bargain- I’d get it too (even though I already own the entire series on kindle 😉 ) Lovely post!
