I’m the type of person who has to finish a series, even if I don’t enjoy it anymore. I think it’s because I usually invest so much time into it that I need to finish them to make it worthwhile. But recently I’ve kind of changed my mind. There’s so many books out there that I want to read, so I’m trying to give up on certain series. This list was quite difficult to make because I struggled to think of what series I’m giving up on!

The Chronicles of Ixia by Maria V. Snyder
Choosing to stop with this series was probably the easiest decision I’ve ever made. I loved the first book so much, but it just went downhill from there. I’m not really sure how many books are left in the series, I only read three, but that was enough for me.
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
I keep trying to tell myself that I’ll read the rest of this series eventually, but I think I’ve finally come to the conclusion that it will never happen. These books are huge and take me forever to read, and even though I really enjoyed the first book, I don’t have the motivation to continue. I’ve read the second book and attempted to read the third book, but I’ve never come anywhere near to finishing it, it got kind of boring and repetitive, so I think I’ll be sticking with the TV show.
The Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I think I was one book away from finishing this series, but I’m just so over aliens haha!
Frostblood by Elly Blake
I was really excited to read this book, but I was really disappointed when I read it. It’s usually rare for me to decide so quickly that I won’t finish a series, because I normally feel like I have to read the second book, but this book just didn’t do anything for me. I felt like I’d read it before and there just wasn’t anything that hooked me.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
I didn’t actually enjoy this book that much when I read it and I kept meaning to give it a second chance because of all the good reviews. But it’s been 3 years since I read this book so I think it’s safe to say that I won’t be continuing on with the series!
