Top 5 Tuesday: Books I Would Save From a Fire

Happy Tuesday! This week’s Top 5 Tuesday theme was so hard, mainly because the thought of all my books burning makes me sad! I also don’t know how I managed to narrow this down to 5 books – I wanted to save every book.

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm, if you’re interested in participating or checking out Shanah’s blog, click here!

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare 10th Anniversary Edition

This series means a lot to me, for various reasons. It encouraged me to branch out with the books that I was reading, and discover new genres and it also introduced me to book blogging, which I’ll always be thankful for. I’d want to save the whole series, but this edition is too beautiful to leave behind.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling

Along with The Mortal Instruments, the Harry Potter series started everything for me. It was the first book series that I ever read on my own. Although I was already a big reader when I was around 7 or 8 (whenever it was that I started these books), it was one of those ones that really got me obsessed. I’d want to save the whole series, but if I had to choose one, I’d choose the first because that’s what made me fall in love with the series!

Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan

Rick Riordan is one of my all time favourite authors, so I would want to save every book that I own of his. However, if I had to choose only one, then it would be Blood of Olympus. This is the only signed book of Riordan’s that I own, so it’s very special to me, and there’s no way I would leave this one to burn!

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

This book is way too beautiful to leave behind, and it’s one that I really loved when I read it. It’s also a lot more special to me because my name is Rose, and there’s a rose engraving on it!

The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven

The other books that I’ve mentioned have all been fantasy ones, so I feel like I need to save a book that isn’t part of that genre. This one was a really easy choice for me because I just finished this book and I’m obsessed with it. Because of this obsession, it would be one of the first books that I would reach for and save!

What are some books that you would save from a fire?

  1. Wow! That edition of City of Bones is SO beautiful! I don’t blame you for saving it from a fire!!! And you’re totally allowed to save the whole Harry Potter series – I saved all of mine as well! LOL
