July Friday Favourites!

July was another very busy month for me so my favourites list is quite small again. I visited my sister who lives a few hours away and helped her move house, it was a lot of work and so tiring. I could barely keep my eyes open after the first day of moving things! I’m also going to YALC for the first time ever on Saturday so I’ve been trying to prepare for that. I have no idea what to expect but I’m really looking forward to going and being around books for the whole day.

I’ve got three books and one TV show on my list this month as well as a movie trailer, so here are my July Favourites…

Gemina and Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

I can’t say much about these books because they’re the second and third in the series so I don’t want to spoil anything in case anyone hasn’t read them! I’ve not been able to stop talking about the Illuminae files since I started the series last month, so it’s not really a surprise to me that Gemina and Obsidio made it to my list this month. I don’t tend to read series all in one go because I like to read something else in between to break it all up, but I couldn’t put this series down and I read them all back to back. I was so invested in the story and the characters that I couldn’t wait to continue on with the books. It’s just such an incredible series and I know for sure that I’ll be checking out both the authors work in the future because their writing is so good!

Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart

I’m only about 100 pages in to this book so it might be a little too early to include this book in my favourites list, but I’m really enjoying it so far. I didn’t read the synopsis before starting the book so I had no idea what to expect from the book. It’s really interesting so far and follows two sisters whose lives are basically out of their control as they can’t choose anything for themselves – men dictate their lives and their future which is all dependent upon their beauty and how they behave. I won’t say much else about the book because I could be wrong with whatever I say as I haven’t finished it yet, but it’s definitely good so far!

Sugar Rush

I was obsessed with the Netflix show Nailed It! a few months ago and ever since I finished it, I was trying to find a similar show to watch. Netflix then released Sugar Rush and I’ve been trying to squeeze in as many episodes a day as I can. It’s a baking competition with professional bakers who compete for $10000 in three rounds of baking. It’s incredible what all the teams can make in the time that they’re given and everything they make looks amazing. I usually don’t watch cooking or baking shows but I can’t stop watching the ones on Netflix for some reason!

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before Trailer

I’ve been looking forward to this movie for the longest time and it’s finally going to be out next month. There’s been loads of teaser trailers that have been released, all of which are amazing, but the full trailer was released a few days ago and it looks so good! I’m now just counting down the days until it’s released on Netflix.

What are some of your favourites from the month of July?

    1. I really hope you enjoy Illuminae and love the rest of the series 😊 I don’t want to jinx it yet, but To All The Boys looks like it will hopefully be really close to the book, which makes me even more excited!

  1. I still have to read To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before! Definitely hope to get to it before the movie is out 😊

    1. Me too, I think I rooted for every single contestant there which is so rare for me. I really hope they release more episodes because I’m already so sad that I’ve finished it haha!
