Happy Tuesday!
I love this week’s topic so much so I’m just going to go straight into this Top 5 Tuesday post because I’m so excited about it!
Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm and each week there’s a different bookish topic to discuss. If you’re interested in participating, or checking out Shanah’s blog, click here!
Fake Relationships
I haven’t read many books that have fake relationships but I’ve read a few recently and they’ve been so much fun. I feel like it creates so many awkward and funny moments, but also some really cute ones.
Anti-heroes/Villains
I don’t think I will ever get tired of reading from an anti-hero or villains perspective. I feel like the typical hero narrative has gotten so boring and overused, and I’ve always found that the villains are so much more interesting to read about. I just love understanding a little bit more about them and why they behave the way they do, especially when they strongly believe that what they are doing is right.
Royalty
I’m obsessed with any form of royal hierarchy in books. I really enjoy seeing how authors create different kingdoms, structure the royal families, and form their history… I just love it so much because it’s never the same in any book. I especially love when there’s a character who doesn’t know that they’re royalty, and then you get to learn everything along with them!
Cliffhangers
I love to hate cliffhangers. I’m incredibly impatient and love to know what happens straight away so cliffhangers really frustrate me. But then they’re just so good at keeping you hooked and wanting more. I can’t remember finishing a book with a cliffhanger and not wanting to continue on even if I can’t handle waiting for the next book!
Competitions
I recently finished Legendary by Stephanie Garner and I really enjoyed the Caraval show/game and all the mystery and risky situations that occurred throughout. It reminded me just how much fun any form of competition or game is to read about… maybe not in the case of The Hunger Games, but there’s always so much tension and action!
I love to hate cliffhangers too!!

Fake dating is one of my new faves, too. I just love watching their relationship progress to more and sigh, it’s just so great lol.

Thank you!! 😊
Same! Even though it’s pretty obvious sometimes that it’ll turn into more, it’s still a great payoff when it actually does happen haha.

Great post and choices of tropes! Although I haven’t read many books with royalty I do think I really like the trope too. Fake relationships are pretty fun to read too especially if the relationship becomes real as the book progresses! Also I totally agree, I love to hate cliffhangers as well!
