I can’t believe it’s the first Top 5 Tuesday of 2019 – where has the time gone??? I’m so happy that Top 5 Tuesday is back from hiatus though, I’ve really missed doing these weekly posts! This weeks topic is all about books that we need to read this year, and other than all the amazing sounding new releases, I have so many books on my shelves that I’ve been dying to get to for the longest time.
Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm and each week there’s a different bookish topic to discuss. If you’re interested in participating, or checking out Shanah’s blog, click here!
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
There was so much hype about this book last year and somehow I avoided reading the book. I just never got around to it despite getting the book in the January FairyLoot box! The sequel is just about to come out (it might already be out – I’m not 100% sure) so I NEED to read The Cruel Prince very soon.
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
I’ve been saying for years that I was going to read this book… but it’s just not happened yet. I’m really hoping that this year will finally be the year that I read it – I’ve heard so much about it and it sounds incredible!
Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare
A few years ago, when a Cassandra Clare book was released, I would have stayed up all night finishing the book because I was so excited. It’s been 2 months since this book was released and I still haven’t picked it up which is crazy to me! I’m still so excited to read it but I need to find the right time to sit down and pick it up so that I savour every moment.
Strange The Dreamer by Laini Taylor
Aside from this book having a beautiful cover, it also seems to be an incredible book that I’m missing out on. I have no idea what the book is about, and I’m okay going into it knowing nothing about it because it’s always so much better that way. I just hope that it lives up to my expectations!
Magnus Chase series by Rick Riordan
It’s about time that I read another Rick Riordan book – I didn’t read any in 2018 and I’m having withdrawal symptoms from his writing!
