June FairyLoot Unboxing!

It’s another late unboxing post from me but after this, I will be all caught up with the June book boxes! This box arrived a day before I left for my Scotland trip and unfortunately, I’ve already misplaced some items but I’ll explain about that when I go into detail about each item.

The theme for the month was ‘broody banter’ which sounded very interesting to me. As always, there was a good mixture of fandoms – some that aren’t very often included in book boxes. Here’s everything that was inside…

Simmer Down Kitten Socks by FairyLoot

These are one of the items that I can’t find… at the moment. As soon as I unpacked the box and saw these, I put them straight in my Scotland bag because I loved them so much. Since then, I’ve worn them quite a lot since I’ve been home but as of right now, I have no idea where they are. One of my cats is extremely weird and she’ll pick up socks and treat them as her babies, taking them and hiding them in random places around the house and garden. I have a feeling that she may have done that with these socks… But I’m hoping I’ll find them soon haha. Because of this, I’ve included a link to FairyLoots Instagram *here* where you can see these beautiful socks.

Reading Journal by Fictionteadesigns and monolimeart

When I first get reading journals I always make an effort to use them. However as the time goes on, I completely forget. I’m determined not to let that happen this time because they’re such a great way of keeping track of what you’re reading, favourite quotes, and what books you’re buying. This is for the months of June – December so here’s hoping that I remember to use it (I’m doing well so far!)

Raven Boys Patch by bookmarkd

I may not have enjoyed The Raven Boys, so I don’t really know a lot about it. However, I have heard a lot about the character Ronan who this quote is from. The colours on this patch are so pretty as well.

Bloodwitch Enamel Pin by ironandinkdesigns

The Truthwitch series is one that I’ve had on my shelf and been meaning to read for a long time now so I’m not really sure what the pin represents/means. I’m going to keep this pin as a reminder that I need to pick the books ASAP.

Woodmark by stellabookishart

Everything about this bookmark is stunning. I just love wooden bookmarks so much more than paper ones for some reason. The quote on this one is from Fire Falling by Elise Kova which is a book I’ve not heard of before.

Mermaid Tea by thetealeafco.

The flavours of this tea sound so interesting. I never would have thought that strawberry and kiwi would be good together. I still need to give this a try but I’m very happy that there’s a recipe for iced tea on the back. It means I can finally try a tea for once because it’s not going to be hot!

Secret Book of Banter by noverantale

img_0850

This is another one of my favourite items from the box because the design is beautiful – it’s so intricate and there’s so many things to look at on it. I love that it’s a storage box too and I’ll be using it to keep my bookmarks nice and safe.

Avatar Art Print by taratjah

This is another item that I’ve misplaced. I’ve got no idea where I put it which I’m so sad about. I’ve included a link to FairyLoots Instagram here again in case anyone wanted to see it.

Enamel Paper Clips by taratjah

Stationary products are always so useful for me. There’s four in total, each featuring different characters from various books, and one that just has a quote. I can’t wait to start using these.

Tarot Cards by loweana.art

I’ve not really been that bothered about the tarot cards that have been featured in the previous boxes. However, I’m loving the Harry Potter ones – the artwork is amazing!

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson

Sorcery of Thorns

All sorcerers are evil. Elisabeth has known that as long as she has known anything. Raised as a foundling in one of Austermeer’s Great Libraries, Elisabeth has grown up among the tools of sorcery—magical grimoires that whisper on shelves and rattle beneath iron chains. If provoked, they transform into grotesque monsters of ink and leather. She hopes to become a warden, charged with protecting the kingdom from their power.

Then an act of sabotage releases the library’s most dangerous grimoire. Elisabeth’s desperate intervention implicates her in the crime, and she is torn from her home to face justice in the capital. With no one to turn to but her sworn enemy, the sorcerer Nathaniel Thorn, and his mysterious demonic servant, she finds herself entangled in a centuries-old conspiracy. Not only could the Great Libraries go up in flames, but the world along with them.

As her alliance with Nathaniel grows stronger, Elisabeth starts to question everything she’s been taught—about sorcerers, about the libraries she loves, even about herself. For Elisabeth has a power she has never guessed, and a future she could never have imagined

RATINGS

ITEMS: 5/5 STARS

There were an incredible 11 items in this months box, including the book. I mentioned at the beginning that I really loved the range of fandoms included, they really mixed it up and went for ones that aren’t usually featured. Everything was beautifully designed and so well made – so it’s impossible not to give it 5 stars.

BOOK: 5/5 STARS

The book is an exclusive edition with sprayed edges and is signed by the author. Alongside this there is also a deleted chapter in the FairyScoop newsletter, and it came with an author letter. The book has had really great reviews so far and sounds like it’s going to be a great read.

VALUE FOR MONEY: 5/5 STARS

It’s another stars. There was just so much to love about June’s box and I’m so glad that I got it!

OVERALL RATING: 5 STARS
