I missed my June and July favourites posts for a whole bunch of different reasons. I’ve slowly been getting back into the swing of things over here, I’ve been trying my best with bloghopping and replying to comments. I will admit that I’ve been very slow with it but I can only get better from here haha.
I’m afraid that replies and bloghopping will be slow once again for the next week. On Sunday we’re headed back up to Scotland. We’re checking back in on my Grandad to see how he’s doing after my Nan passed away, and there’s a few other things that we need to sort out as well.
Despite the circumstances, I’m really looking forward to seeing family again and we’re taking the kitten with us so my Grandad can see him again. Furye is growing way too fast, I just want him to stay little forever.
Back to the blog post… this is a combination of my favourites from June, July, and August. It’s just as well that I’ve combined the three months though as this list isn’t that long!
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
I made the decision to re-read the series a couple of weeks ago. As of right now, I’m on book three The Prisoner of Azkaban. I’m having the best time with these books and I’m excited to carry on with the re-read. I’m hoping that I’ll be done by the end of September but who knows if I will be haha.
Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman
I’m so mad at myself for not reading this book sooner. Ive had it on my shelf for way too long but never picked it up. When I did eventually read it, I just made myself pick it up on a whim, there wasn’t really any reason behind it. But I got hooked instantly. I’ve never ever ever been able to properly put into words how my mind works and how my anxiety is, but this book did exactly that for me. I was able to relate to so many situations that Kiko was in and she was an incredible protagonist. This book is about so much more than that though – it explores not feeling like you fit in, racism, abuse, and more. It’s one of my favourites that I’ve read this year.
Lover by Taylor Swift
I’m adding this even though it only came out a few days ago. I’ve had this on repeat and I’m obsessed. Taylor’s lyrics have always been incredible and on this album, they’re even better. Some of my favourites are Cruel Summer, Cornelia Street, The Man, Afterglow, and Death By A Thousand Cuts.
I’ve had so many ribbon bookmarks over the years and loved them so much. It wasn’t until June that I tried making my own and I loved how they turned out. It’s been so much fun designing and making them and I’ve got so many ideas for new ones. I decided to make my own Etsy shop because I had quite a lot of ribbon left over. If you’re interested in checking them out, the link to that is here.
Now, we all know that I am obsessed with a bookish subscription box. I’m always impressed and in awe of the ideas and items that the FairyLoot team come up with. But the July and August boxes completely blew me away (August Unboxing will be coming soon!). They’re hands down my favourite subscription box of all time and I’m so happy with all of the success that they’re having recently. It makes me so excited to see what they’ll come up with next.
