Friday Favourites: September

Here we are again, at the end of another month, which has flown by way too quickly. If I’m honest, I can barely remember anything from this last month. I’ve been in a constant state of stress from last minute disseration edits to ‘I wish I could change that but I’ve already submitted it, so it’s too late now’ edits.

Anyway, in between that, I’ve tried to give myself as much time as possible to relax. Whether that’s reading (which admittedly, I haven’t done much of) to watching TV shows, or just doing nothing. Sometimes it’s great to just sit or lie there, and not do anything at all. My favourites for September are quite short, mainly for that reason!

GILMORE GIRLS

There is something about Autumn that makes me think of all of my past favourites; whether that’s TV, books, films, or music. It just brings up nostalgic feelings and the intense desire to re-read, re-watch, or re-listen. And so my Gilmore Girls re-watch began. It’s been three years since I last watched it, so I feel like it was about time that I watched it again. I’m currently on season two and I already know that when I finish it, I’m going to want to watch it again. It’s just the best!

BODY SHOP PEPPERMINT SCENT

Peppermint Candy Cane

The Body Shop is one of my all time favourite bath/body shops. Everything smells amazing, makes your skin feel soft, and they’re incredibly eco-friendly, sustainable, and just an all round great shop. Last year, they released a peppermint range for the Winter season, and I was obsessed with it so much that I stocked up. I’ve got no idea if they’re releasing the range again this year, but luckily I have enough supplies to last me through another winter! As soon as the weather started turning colder, I took it all out and started using it again. It’s such a great scent!

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING

Bit of an abstract one, and I know that it’s really early, but I like to be prepared. I’ve been browsing online a lot this month, trying to pick out gifts for family and friends. Although I haven’t bought anything yet, I’ve got some great ideas lined up and I can’t wait until it actually gets closer to December so that I can start buying some. It also doesn’t help working in retail because the Christmas gifts, decorations, and food start coming out so early – it’s hard not to get excited about it!

Freedom

Another weird one, but I just had to mention it. I promise that this will be the last time that I mention university (at least until I get my results in a few months!). But it feels so good to come home from work, or have a day off, and not worry about doing some writing or edits. I think we sometimes take for granted our free time and it’s only when we don’t have it anymore, that we realise just how much we miss it – at least that’s how it was for me. Like I mentioned at the beginning of this post, it’s been great to just watch TV and not feel guilty. And it’s been fantastic just doing nothing some days and I’ve been able to recharge! That probably won’t last for long though because I’ve finally, finally, finally, got the time, and money, to start learning to drive. So that’s going to be taking up some of my time and I can’t wait to start!
