I really love this weeks Top 5 Tuesday because it’s all about our 5 star predictions! I’ve never really thought about what I would rate books before I’ve read them, but there are a few books out there that I’m so excited to read because I think that I will (hopefully) rate them 5 stars.

Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
I have heard nothing but amazing things about this book which has made me very excited to read it. Usually I’m really wary of the hype surrounding new releases, but for some reason I just know that this book will be even better than I’m expecting it to be!
My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows
I’m obsessed with historical fiction novels, and I admire any author that puts their own spin on history in their novels. I’ve heard that this book is really funny, and even though it isn’t that historically accurate, the authors have put their own twist on it and I’m just really looking forward to reading it!
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
I’ve been meaning to get to this book for years, but this year is finally the year that I will read it. The synopsis of the book is enough to tell me that I’m going to love it, especially as it’s inspired by ancient Rome, which is another obsession of mine!
Save the Date by Morgan Matson
I’ve loved everything that Morgan Matson has written and I think I’ve given 5 stars to all of her books. Save the Date sounds like it’s going to be another perfect summer read and I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on it. At this point, I don’t think Morgan Matson can write anything that I’ll hate!
The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven
This book sounds incredible, every review that I’ve seen has rated the book 5 stars and I just know that it’s one I’m going to love. I’ve heard that the book focuses upon really important topics and I am really hoping that it will live up to my 5 star expectations!
I have My Lady Jane on my TBR for May! Same feelings as you – I love historical fiction that put a slightly different spin on things. I’ve seen so many 5 star ratings for it, even from people that generally don’t like historical fiction, so I have high hopes! And Save The Date is another one I could have added to my list. So excited for it!
Thanks for participating – added you to the list 🙂

Both Children of Blood and Bone and The Exact Opposite of Okay focus on relevant issues, really. I love that about both those books – and it’s also the main reason why I put them on my favorites, haha. Hope you’ll love them as much as I do! They both blew my expectations away and gave me way more than I’d hoped. 🙂
