Happy Tuesday!
I love this weeks theme so much because Book spines are so important and underrated. I actually did a similar post a while ago (a long, long time ago) which you can check out here. But since then, there’s been loads more books that I’ve gotten that have beautiful spines. This is also another opportunity for me to show off my awful photography haha.
Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm and each week there’s a different bookish topic to discuss. If you’re interested in participating, or checking out Shanah’s blog, click here!
A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
I got this book a few days ago and I haven’t been able to stop staring at the spine. It’s quite a simple spine but then it’s made so much more interesting by the holo!
The Bloodprint Ausma Zehanat Khan
I love the colours and the font on this one so much and the illustrations at the top and bottom. It’s just so pretty!
Clean by Juno Dawson
This is another simple spine but it’s the colour that makes it so much more interesting to look at. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a rose gold cover, or spine before, but it just shows that sometimes you need a different colour to liven things up!
All These Beautiful Strangers by Elizabeth Klehfoth
The cover of this book is just as beautiful as the spine, and so much effort and thought have gone into both because you can see the ripples in the water as well as the droplets. I love the colour gradient and it kind of matches my rainbow shelves haha.
Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowan
Purple is one of my favourite colours so it’s no surprise that I chose this book haha. It’s so simple but makes me so happy looking at it and the font is amazing.
Such great ones. I love a shiny spine! I’m tempted to get Curse just because of the spine alone!

What a fun post! And so true, the spine part of the book is definitely the first thing that catches the eye when picking up a book to see what it’s about.
Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler is a favorite.

A Curse So Dark and Lonely is AMAZING!!! I need that book just because of the spine alone! I’ve heard good things about the book but…… it’s so shiny!!!!!!!!

I know right?! I think even if the book didn’t live up to the hype, I wouldn’t be too disappointed because the shiny spine would make up for it haha!

Definitely spine is what end up looking at most. It is interesting that unless turn book spines around to make all look same that is what see on shelves. But guess what notice most maybe whether all match and colours rather than individual spines.

That’s so true, I never thought about it that way before! It makes it a lot easier to organise when the colours match.
