10 Contemporary Books on my TBR

*Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish*

This weeks theme is ten books from a certain genre that have been added to my TBR list. My TBR list is out of control. On average I’ve only been reading one or two books a month recently, but my TBR list has grown so much because of all the new amazing books out there. As it’s summer at the moment, I’ve been searching for new contemporary books to read because it’s my favourite genre to read during the summer months. There are loads of contemporaries that I want to read but I’ve narrowed it down to the ten that I’m the most excited to read. Here are my ten contemporary books that I’ve recently added to my TBR pile!

28458598When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
I rushed out to Waterstones the other day just so I could get my hands on this book because I’m so excited to read it. I’ve heard so many good things about it so I can’t wait to dive straight in to this book!

34373364Windfall by Jennifer Smith
I started this a few weeks ago but stopped reading it so I could focus on Lord of Shadows. Once I’ve finished that book, I’ll be moving straight back to this one because I was really enjoying it!

This book sounds like it will be a really fun and easy read. It’s one I’ve been really excited to start because of all the great things I’ve heard about it. I’ve never been to a convention before but I’m sure that this book will make me want to go to one even more than I already do!

I got this book in the book subscription box Illumicrate and as soon as I saw it, I knew I needed to read it as soon as possible. I did a review and unboxing of everything that was in the box,so if you’re interested in seeing what else was in the box click here.

This book caught my eye in the book shop because it sounded so different to previous contemporaries that I’d read. It focuses upon disability which I think is an extremely important topic that isn’t really discussed in many novels at the moment. I have heard mixed reviews about this novel, so I’m looking forward to seeing what I think of it!

timthumbFinding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella
I’ve had this book for over two years now and I’ve never gotten around to reading it. I’ve heard so many great things about Sophie Kinsella’s writing, so I’m hoping that this will be a book that I really enjoy.

81pjpd+ktXLSecond Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

I read this book a few years ago and loved it so much. It’s easily my favourite Morgan Matson book and because of that, I really want to re-read it this summer!

30653853The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

As soon as I read the synopsis for this book, I knew it was going straight on my TBR. It sounds like it’s going to be so relatable and funny so it’s definitely one that I’ll be searching for in the book shops!

32799280The Names They Gave Us by Emery Lord

I’m in love with the cover for this book, it’s so beautiful! Aside from the cover, it sounds like it’s going to be an equally beautiful read.

32887579One of Us is Lying by Karen McManus

This is another book where as soon as I read the synopsis, it went straight on my TBR. I don’t usually enjoy books that have a mystery that needs to be solved but this one sounds interesting. It’s getting really good reviews so I can’t wait to start this one!

Those are all of the contemporary books that I’ve recently added to my TBR! What are some books that you can’t wait to read?

  1. I loved Truth or Dare – I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. One of Us is Lying is really good too. I keep seeing Geekerella so I’m starting to get a bit tempted by it.

    1. I’m so excited about Truth or Dare because I don’t really know that much about it! That’s one of the main reasons why I got Geekerella. It was everywhere and I’ve heard amazing things about it. I’m sure Geekerella won’t disappoint you if you do decide to get it!
